18 July 2023 – The Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao met with Maligaya Elementary School Principal Dr. Randy Tagaan and his Brigada Eskwela POCs to plan and discuss upcoming Brigada Eskwela activities and schedule.

RCUC was represented by Hope Creating President Roel Abatayo, Past President Jun Geronimo (Club Treasurer / Council of Presidents member), Past President Alex Cruz (Club Auditor / Council of Presidents member), RACUC Past President Princess Silva and Rtn Christine Cruz (Committee Chair, Basic Education and Literacy)

Key topics discussed where the upcoming 2023-2024 Brigada Eskwela kick-off activities, as well as other year-long program of the school where RCUC could provide support.

RCUC, through HCP Roel pledged to support MES on its continuing and alternative learning programs, including setting up the schools online news portal and help facilitate a series of journalism learning sessions to teach students how to write news articles and feature stories that they can publish online.

The planning session culminated with a walk around the school’s premises to inspect conditions of RCUC’s previous projects like the Project Wash, Toilet project, Aquaponics, as well as identify areas where clean up is needed.

The topics discussed will be assessed by RCUC, along with its partner club Rotaract Club of Uptown Cubao for consideration and implementation.
