On June 10, 2025, the Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao, together with the Rotaract Club of Uptown Cubao proudly took another step toward advancing education and literacy by turning over computers to Bagumbong Elementary School in Caloocan. This initiative forms part of our flagship program—Project UPTOWN: Unlocking Potential Through Our Words and Nurturing—under the Pathways to Learning series.
This meaningful project was made possible through the support of GWL – Giving Whilst Living, whose generosity and shared commitment to accessible education brought this vision to life.
Representing our clubs at the turnover were:
- Incoming Rotary President Princess Silva
- Rotarian Jam Fuentenegra, Project Lead
- Incoming Rotaract President Enzo Abatayo
Assisting where the other passionate and committed members from both clubs.
The joy on the faces of the students and teachers was a powerful reminder of why we serve. In many public schools, access to technology remains a challenge. With this donation, we’re helping bridge that digital divide. The computers will be used for computer literacy classes, research, and digital learning—opening new opportunities for students and empowering educators.
During the short program, Project Lead Rotarian Jam shared a message that captured the heart of our mission:
“Technology should never be a privilege, but a tool for empowerment—especially for the youth. Through this initiative, we hope to nurture not just learners, but future leaders.”
This turnover is just one chapter in a much larger story. As we continue to roll out programs under Project UPTOWN—from Brigada Eskwela to reading sessions and literacy workshops—we remain steadfast in our mission to make a lasting difference through education.
Together, we are unlocking potential—one word, one nurturing act, and one meaningful partnership at a time.
