The Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao, in proud collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guard, recently completed a successful coastal clean-up drive—a powerful testament to what community partnerships can achieve in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.
This initiative was more than just a clean-up. It was a united call to action, rooted in our shared responsibility to protect the natural world—especially our precious marine and coastal ecosystems. The event brought together dedicated volunteers, public servants, and community members, all working hand in hand to restore and protect the shoreline.
Why It Matters
Our coastlines are vital. They support marine biodiversity, protect inland areas from storm surges, and provide livelihoods to countless communities. Yet, they are under constant threat from pollution, climate change, and unsustainable human activity. This clean-up drive was launched with three core goals:
Raise awareness about the importance of marine conservation and how human actions affect fragile coastal ecosystems.
Encourage community participation by fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for protecting our shorelines.
Strengthen collaboration among stakeholders—including government agencies, private groups, and local residents—to tackle environmental challenges together.
A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future
Through this joint effort, we demonstrated that real change happens when communities unite. The Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao and the Philippine Coast Guard are proud to stand together in advocating for a cleaner, safer, and more resilient coastline—not only for today but for generations to come.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated and supported this initiative. Let’s continue to protect our environment—one shoreline at a time.
