Rotaract Club of Uptown Cubao spearheads Free Pneumonia Vaccination

On July 14, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Uptown Cubao and the Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao, in collaboration with Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Uptown Cubao and the Department of Health (DOH), successfully launched Project PNEUMOFREE: Libreng Bakuna ng Pneumococcal Vaccine.

This initiative aims to provide free pneumococcal vaccines to our community, making this vital healthcare service accessible to those who may not be able to afford it otherwise. Pneumonia is a serious illness that can have severe consequences if left untreated. Vaccination is a crucial preventive measure, significantly reducing the risk of infection.

Recognizing the high costs associated with obtaining this vaccine privately, Uptown Cubao partnered with the DOH to offer it free of charge to our community members. This drive is just the beginning of our ongoing efforts to combat pneumonia. We plan to hold additional vaccination events to ensure that more people can benefit from this life-saving intervention.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners at DOH, RCC Uptown Cubao, and all volunteers who helped make this project a success. Together, we are building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities—free from preventable illness.
